Lesson 26 - Sunday May 2nd Hot Pattern work Well, Sunday was really hot, like 90 in Santa Monica, and 100 in the Valley, so we elected not to go to Van Nuys, and instead went around the pattern again. Being the weekend, we are not allowed to do touch-and-gos at Santa Monica, and we kept getting bumped out of the pattern by faster planes, but we still managed to get six landings in. It took 1.6 hours though. Gradual improvement on the landing. The holding the rudder firmly helped quite a bit, and I managed to use it to keep us lined up a bit more on final approach. I'm not making dramatic progress, but I feel I get a bit better every day. Should be soloing in a couple of weeks, which will probably put it after our trip to Alaska.
